Raja Yoga Philosophy explained 8 steps

Raja Yoga is a yoga school with a classical approach. It means the royal path of yoga. It includes the eightfold path as written down by Patanjali. Learning to meditate is something that an increasing number of people want to make their own.... This means we are not a yoga school teaching asanas. We want more depth and take students on a journey to a world that speaks to their soul. It is a meditative and primal form of yoga practice.

Raja Yoga Objective

The ultimate goal is to get your energy fields perfectly round and centred in your heart chakra, for your soul energy to flow through you and for your natural talents to be used. You live from your heart and have faith that everything unfolds automatically. You are very balanced because your energy fields are like concentric circles. These are difficult to penetrate while you are connected to everyone.

Raja Yoga Philosophy inner rest

The inner peace we are looking for in the hustle and bustle of existence does not actually need to be sought. It is already continuously present. We just don't connect with it because mental thinking is working overtime and we have lost the love for creation. The meditation lessons focus on reconnecting from the heart, bypassing mental thinking and the ever-present inner silence.

Jyotisha wants to seek depth with his students. How long you can stand in an assana is not interesting. Searching for those assanas you struggle with is interesting, though. Performing those difficult asanas perfectly requires relaxation and harmonisation of your energy fields. And to that end, techniques can help.

Jyotisha won the 3-year teacher training completed at Raja Yoga Institute. From 2004-2013, he participated in many retreats at Oneness University in India. With the permission of Oneness University, he has been allowed to publish knowledge and embedded experience from these retreats in Oneness Effort. In 2015, he published the 3-year master's degree completed.

Summary: Focus on concentration, meditation, contemplation and karma burning. Strengthen your soul connection !

Raja Yoga Philosophy
Classical Royal Yoga Philosophy

Patanjali's eightfold path is summarised below:

1. Raja Yoga : YAMAS - universal values

non-violence - truthfulness - honesty - sexuality - desire

You in relation to the outside world.

Become aware of these primary values in your life that will allow you to make the right decisions and act in the way that suits you. First, you become aware of all existing habits of violence, lying, theft, unchastity and lust. By not accepting these on principle, you get more time to think and make up your mind on the matter. You get much more peace of mind as a result.

2. Raja Yoga : NIYAMAS - ideals

purity - contentment - moderation - self-study - surrender

By pursuing these ideals in your daily life in combination with the practice of the Yamas, you will start functioning more powerfully in all respects. Subsequently, you can then lay a firm foundation for your life by practising purity, contentment, austerity, self-study and surrender to the Supreme.

3. Raja Yoga Haarlem : ASANAS - physical attitudes

Well known to everyone are the Yoga exercises, which not only make the body supple but also have a therapeutic effect. The assanas should be practised in combination with the 7 other parts. Then you can gain physical health, strength and suppleness through physical postures.Practising the many physical postures (asanas) successfully avoids sweating, despite stretching your body. Each time you practise you hold the posture a little longer without moving, shaking and sweating. .Your body recovers completely and becomes fit as certain energy centres (Chakras) are stimulated and kept in harmony (Sattva). There are 18 categories of Asanas in which 1, 2 or 3 chakras are stimulated.

4. Raja Yoga : PRANAYAMA - energy control

Exercises to balance and centre your energy flow around your heart chakra. An infinite, dual energy flow (Shiva and Shakti) is the fundamental building block of your being. There are two entry/exit points: one is about 15 cm above your crown and one is in your pelvic floor. There are eight types of Pranayamas to restore the quality and quantity of your energy between the two in/outlets. The exercises make you temporarily healthy, supple and strong. It means transforming the eclipses of the 5 el elements into 5 centric spheres in the heart chakra. Since your energy channels have been largely cleared of bottlenecks by the preceding steps, you can then begin controlling your energy flows and dramatically increase your vitality and strength. There are also eleven techniques, energy seals Mudras, To connect different energy levels. So you can always have enough energy to live, or to improve the quality of your life.

5. Raja Yoga : PRATYAHARA - detach

As you become increasingly pure and sensitive, you experience more grief and pain in yourself and others. Withdrawal of the 5 senses is a powerful exercise. However, this also makes you much more sensitive on a sensory and motor level, so that then withdrawal of energy or detachment is a pure necessity to maintain your emotional and mental peace. There are four different types of detachment exercises (Pratyaharas) to gain control over your sensory and motor organs. These also help control your thoughts, emotions and moods.

6. Raja Yoga : DHARANA - concentration

Concentration by focusing your attention on a chosen topic. Frequent practice will be with the nada sound between your temples in the middle of your head. This drains energy from all other thoughts, increasing your ability to concentrate. Concentrating your attention on a single chosen object increases your mental power. There are four steps to acquire correct concentration (Dharana) and four types of concentration to achieve total health and higher consciousness.

7. Raja Yoga : DHYANA - meditation

Once you can concentrate in gentleness for a period without interruption it is called meditation or single-pointed concentration or focus. When there are no more interruptions in your concentration you have achieved meditation, or single-pointed focus of attention. It is a state of concentration sustained for a long time and with pleasure. Within this royal pass, it is not just a home and garden meditation using the sound of the sea over a speaker. All without external aids.

8. Raja Yoga : SAMADHI - contemplation

At samadhi, there are no more distractions. And then 'another world', that of clear perception can open up before you. There are eight different forms of Samadhi. Finally, you obtain true knowledge, happiness and joy, along with the awakening of para-normal abilities, through the awesome power of contemplation, the technique of mastery of the superconscious mind. They let you discover and experience true joy, love and peace.

9. Raja Yoga : SAMYAMA - Karma purification

And then there is also an additional technique to purify your karma. This is covered in the Master training. There are thirty different types of concentration-meditation-contemplation exercises Samyamas , which constitute the highest techniques of Yoga. These exercises reveal to you the reality of many hidden psychic abilities dormant within you. They lead you to Self-realisation, Enlightenment and Liberation. The various techniques become spontaneous after many years of practice. The road to endless bliss and a new magical world is open. All you have to do is make a wish and it happens.

Raja yoga put into practice results in finding yourself valuable, having fun at your spiritual level, using your talents and contributing to the planet that is royal yoga or Raja yoga.
